Will you as my therapist “fix” me? ↓

This is a common misconception people have about therapy. We are trained professionals with a breadth and depth of knowledge related to mental health, biology, environmental factors, coping skills etc. We will work collaboratively towards your personal goals and desired outcomes.

How do I get started? ↓

Feel free to schedule a free 15 minute consultation with me to get a feel for whether or not we would be a good match for your treatment.

Cancellation policy ↓

In order to obtain the most benefit from therapeutic intervention, I recommend remaining as consistent as possible with your sessions. In the event that you need to cancel a session, a 48-hour notice is required. If the session is not canceled 48 hours ahead of your scheduled session, the full rate of your session will be charged.

How long does therapy last? ↓

The length of treatment depends on a variety of factors, some people need a few sessions, others remain in treatment for multiple months. It is possible to work towards your goals, take a break from treatment, and then come back at a later time if you feel more support is needed.

What is the difference between an LMFT, LCSW and a psychologist? ↓

LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a person with a Masters degree whose training has an emphasis on relationship dynamics. An LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, also a Masters degree with a focus on clinical social work interventions including case management. A psychologist is a licensed provider with a doctoral level degree, minimal 4 years of graduate education and postdoctoral training experience. All can be helpful in providing mental health care to those in need.
